Yummy, Ludy's and two more Samuya Food Corp products on recall due to salmonella

After United States encountered salmonella outbreak in their peanut products that resulted to a massive recall. In the Philippines, the Bureau of Food and Drugs have tested and learned that there are peanut butter products that are tested positive in salmonella contamination.

The first to be recall Yummy Sweet and Creamy Peanut Spread with batch numbers 3040905 and 11240810, and expiry dates 90409 and 52409.

In a new development another products from Samuya Food Corp are now in recall like Ludy's Peanut Butter which is found positive with salmonella.

With Samuya's failure to follow the “Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP)" in making their products, the government issued a suspension order on their plants and they added another recall on their Ludy's Coco Jam spread and their Ludy's ginger brew (salabat) product.

Salmonella is a known disease-causing organism. Among the illnesses it can bring are typhoid and paratyphoid fevers, and diarrhea.

UPDATE: new products that were ordered banned and recalled by the Department of Health (DOH) and BFAD.
