North Korea's Central Court: Laura Ling and Euna Lee Sentenced To 12 Years In Labor Prison
It seems that the North Korean government want to tell to the world that you cannot mess up with them! After the missile testing in which the whole world was alarm and protested, the North Korea's Central Court gave a quick five-day trial to American journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee giving them 12 years sentenced in labor prison.
The two journalist who works to former Vice President Al Gore’s California-based Current TV were convicted "for the grave crime they committed against the Korean nation and their illegal border crossing."
This maybe North Korea's way to put the Obama administration and the U.N. to go into the negotiating table over their nuclear testing and sanction.
Laura and Euna were arrested by North Korean military on the Chinese border last March 17 for alleged "hostile acts" and "Spying".
Laura is the sister of Lisa Ling (former co-host of The View). Lisa and their familiies made a public pleas, "When the girls left the United States, they never intended to cross into North Korean soil. And if they did at any point, we apologize."
All eyes are now on the Obama administration on what will be their next move to save this hard working journalist.
