Massachusetts Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy has died at his home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. He is 77. Kennedy is battling brain cancer which was diagnosed in May 2008.
Kennedy family said in a statement, "We've lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism, and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever. He loved this country and devoted his life to serving it."
Kennedy was the brother of former President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert ‘Bobby’ Kennedy.
