Poland's President Lech Kaczynski and several top official killed in Plane Crash
Poland's flags are at half-staff as they are now mourning for their President Lech Kaczynski, his wife, Maria Kaczynski, several civilian leaders and top military officials after they were killed in a plane crash as it prepared to land at a western Russian airport on Saturday (April 10).
No survivors was reported on this tragic incident. Russia's Emergency Ministry said there were 97 dead, 88 in the Polish state delegation. Poland's Foreign Ministry said there were 89 people on the passenger list.
The delegations are on a trip to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre.
The heavy fog is reportedly is the big factor in the said crash. The plane hit some tress when approaching the airport at Smolensk.
