Philippines is still free of Influenza A (H1N1) virus; WHO reported 9830 cases including 79 deaths

Until now Philippines is still free and has no confirmed case of the widely spread Influenza A (H1N1) virus but many Filipinos are starting to be scared because neighboring countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Korea and Hong Kong has confirmed cases and its growing. Its a matter of time that this epidemic will reach the Philippines.

Currently as of today, 40 countries have officially reported 9830 cases including 79 deaths.

WHO records:
countries with confirmed cases with casualty
Mexico - 3684 cases, including 72 deaths
United States - 5123 cases, including 5 deaths
Canada - 496 cases, including 1 death
Costa Rica - 9 cases, including 1 death.

Countries with confirmed cases with no deaths - Argentina (1), Australia (1), Austria (1), Belgium (5), Brazil (8), China (7), Chile (4), Colombia (11), Cuba (3), Denmark (1), Ecuador (1), El Salvador (6), Finland (2), France (14), Germany (14), Guatemala (3), India (1), Ireland (1), Israel (7), Italy (9), Japan (159), Malaysia (2), Netherlands (3), New Zealand (9), Norway (2), Panama (59), Peru (2), Poland (1), Portugal (1), Republic of Korea (3), Spain (103), Sweden (3), Switzerland (1), Thailand (2), Turkey (2), and the United Kingdom (102).

All of us must be vigilant in our surroundings and government must tighten their security and monitor for incoming passengers coming from abroad. Person who display signs of flu-like symptoms are advised to seek medical advice immediately.
