Fr. Michael Sinnot is now finally free
Many are glad that Irish priest Fr. Michael Sinnot is now finally free after being abducted by a rogue Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) group last October 11, 2009.
It is supposed to be a total good news but some playful minds are thinking the coincidental timing of Sinnot's released. It is on the day of the arrival of US State Department Secretary Hillary Clinton to Manila for a two-day meeting with President Arroyo.
The government says that the released was due to the sincerity of the peace panel committee (Moro Islamic Liberation Front's (MILF) ceasefire committee turned over innot to the government peace panel).
The lost command (lawless MILF group) previously demanded a ransom of $2 million. Even though the government said that no ransom was paid for the release, many are still doubting.
If no ransom was paid, definitely a good development. Paying this bandits will just encourage more criminal activity in the future.
